Clever Commute [5:20 PM] – 501 from Penn to Ronk stuck at Woodside
NJ Transit [5:38 PM] – The 5:01 PM Penn Station train due in Ronkonkoma at 6:20 PM, is operating 14 minutes late due to equipment trouble in Woodside Station
Clever Communicators were out in force today. The AM rush was snarled by a train-to-train accident.
LIRR did its part by sending out Service Advisories…but the riders were also there. They shared views on what they were seeing…and how to get to work as quickly and safely as possible. Nicely done!
Here’s an example of how Clever Long Island commuters can be:
Clever Commute [7:22 AM] – 7:19 to brooklyn has been canceled
LIRR Advisory [7:37 AM] – The 7:19 AM from Huntington due in Flatbush Avenue at 8:25 AM has been canceled due to equipment trouble. Customers will be on the next train and be about 10 to 15 minutes late. Customers to Flatbush Avenue will have to change at Jamaica. Sep-26-2008 07:36:32AM

Clever Commute [5:23 PM] – I just heard there is a train stuck in the tunnel. Trouble ahead?
LIRR [5:40 PM] – The LIRR is experiencing delays of 20 to 30 minutes due to a train experiencing equipment problems outside of Penn Station. The disabled train is the 4:49 PM train from Penn Station due in Port Jefferson at 6:36 PM. Sep-11-2008 05:35:24PM
